THE NAPPLICATION OF THE BRAZILIAN NATIONALLY DETERMINED CONTRIBUTION: AN ANALYSIS ON THE ROAD TAKEN BY BRAZIL IN GLOBAL CLIMATE ACTIONS
Abstract
Climate change has unquestionable relevance on the world stage, because it directly impacts life on the planet in all aspects. Considering its importance in international discussions, this article, through doctrinal and legislative research, analyzes the commitments assumed by Brazil in the Paris Agreement, evaluating as fundamental instruments for combating climate change, such as the Nationally Determined Contributions, are implemented by the Brazilian legal system. Thus, an innovative system can be observed, but due to its flexible nature, it may give rise to a less ambitious posture by Brazil and the non-application of the objectives of the Agreement.
